As a Key Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for driving volume and growing the business portfolio across retail key accounts on an annual, quarterly, monthly, customer, and brand basis. This role includes responsibility for customers within the grocery and convenience channel. Success will be achieved through ruthless focus, brilliant execution, and strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including Sales Management, suppliers, and customers.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual plans for key accounts and insure the delivery of business goals
  • Manage and evaluate through Trade Development all promotional spending by account priority with regards to performance and implement corrective business building actions
  • Grow total portfolio in all accounts and beat the plan and competition through net sales value, growing share and volume.
  • Develop and implement promotional calendar for assigned accounts
  • Manage budget within plan
  • Collaborate with sales team to optimize ways of working to ensure great execution
  • Proactively provide feedback on program execution and effectiveness
  • Assist Sales Management and Trade Development in the development of account specific presentations
  • Analyze competitive activities and generate insights to create a competitive advantage.
  • Build and sustain strong productive relationships with customer / stakeholders
  • Deliver Key Account business update at quarterly sales meeting and provide input to Business Reviews with suppliers.
  • Partner with sales management to develop and foster excellent supplier relationships
  • Prospect, quantify, and qualify new accounts to determine potential fit with brand portfolio.
  • Provide product and brand marketing knowledge through sales aides and staff training seminars.
  • Attend promotional events as required eg trade shows, Vintage Events
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree required
  • 3-4 years' experience in a similar role
  • Excellent computer skills, including use of MS Office
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and problem solving skills
  • Excellent leadership capabilities with strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Capable of seeking out new ideas, exhibit initiative and be proactive
  • Strong budget management capability
  • Strong sales and commercial strategy capability with depth in Key Account and Customer Management
  • Managing complex customer relationships
  • Sound knowledge of the sale and marketing of wine
  • Excellent Negotiation and Persuasive Selling Skills
  • Knowledge of Liquor Board Regulations, market trends and competition
  • Relevant cross-functional experience (finance, operations, IT, HR, project management, etc)
