POSITION SUMMARY:  

As the Production Scheduler at Jackson's Food Company, the role involves developing production schedules in response to sales orders, forecasts, demand, and the production plan. Active collaboration with the Supply Chain Director and Production Planner, and contributing to efficient scheduling with the Operations team are integral to the position. Troubleshooting supply chain issues and preparation of essential supply chain reports reflect a commitment to optimizing production processes and staying current with industry trends. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned. Individual will work a varied schedule based on client needs. 

Scheduling Responsibilities: 

• Maintain a 4-week production schedule in Business Central, ensuring work orders are accurately entered. 

• Work closely with the production planner to schedule production orders to meet demand. 

• Collaborate with the E-commerce team to assess inventory needs and incorporate them into the production schedule. 

• Review and approve customer requests for changes in order quantity and delivery dates, as forwarded by the customer service department. 

• Ensure adherence to production schedules by regularly reporting schedule versus actual output to the team. 

• Develop comprehensive production schedules in response to sales orders, forecasts, and demand dynamics. 

• Ensure adherence to deadlines through a proactive approach, guaranteeing the fulfillment of supply chain needs. 

• Work collaboratively with the Operations team to assess scheduling needs, maximizing throughput during shifts. 

• Monitor hour by hour production progress to adjust schedules when needed. 

• Prepare comprehensive supply chain reports, providing valuable insights and analytics.

Required Experience 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;  

• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training;  

• Or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Proven aptitude in Microsoft Suite; experience with ERP systems required. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.   

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 

REASONING ABILITY
