Contract Project Manager (Temp-to-Hire)

About the Opportunity

Chief of Staff KC is partnering with a growing company in the Riverside, MO area to fill a Project Manager II role on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with an organization that's looking to bring on the right person permanently — you'll have the chance to prove yourself in the role before it converts.

The Project Manager II will independently manage mid-sized projects from start to finish, keeping scope, schedule, and budget on track while coordinating across internal teams and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Manage mid-sized projects independently, from planning through execution
  • Develop project plans and manage budgets
  • Identify and mitigate project risks before they become problems
  • Facilitate meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Schedule field technicians and communicate job site details, materials, and timelines
  • Keep customers updated on project status and expectations
  • Handle documentation, reporting, and regular updates to team members and supervisors
  • Follow established project management processes and tools
  • Help coordinate resources across project tasks

What You'll Need

  • Experience in project coordination, project management, or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage moderately complex projects
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
  • High attention to detail, especially around scheduling
  • Solid organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or related field
  • Prefer candidates with manufacturing, logistics or distribution experience
  • 3+ years of project coordination or project management experience
  • PMP or similar certification
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software

Work Environment

  • On-site, Monday–Friday, standard business hours
  • Occasional travel to customer sites or industry events
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Flexibility for extended hours or weekends as needed per project
