We are looking for a Cold Mill Production Superintendent to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana!
Working in this integral leadership position, your key responsibilities are ensuring Environmental, Health, and Safety results, productivity improvements, employee development, maximizing the value of diversity, and customer delivery through implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, including Daily Management, TPM, 5S, etc. The Operations Superintendent will ensure consistent implementation and execution of policies and systems in order to guarantee customer (internal and external) expectations are met at the lowest cost and always with safety at the forefront of every activity.

What you will work on:
  • Ensuring Environmental, Health, and Safety results
  • Productivity improvements, employee development, maximizing the value of diversity.
  • Customer delivery through implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, including Daily Management, TPM, 5S, etc.
  • Ensure consistent implementation and execution of policies and systems in order to guarantee customer (internal and external) expectations are met at the lowest cost and always with safety at the forefront of every activity.

About you:
  • A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience with responsibility for labor issues within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a union environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business or other 4 year degree.
  • Hands on experience in Lean Manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Preferred experience in working knowledge of coil coating, coil slitting, metal rolling processes, environmental regulations, metal planning, and standards-based operating is desired.
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or process industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Influential and flexible leadership with experience encouraging and championing a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to lead the team and develop the team
  • Building of culture of ownership, engagement, and empowerment
  • Must be willing and able to take on ownership of the production center and the team
  • Should be forward-thinking regarding continuous improvement plans (Hoshin)
  • Be able to encourage and enable leadership development among their team
  • Sound understanding/experience of project management working to cost and schedule metrics
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
