Part-time Faculty: Juris Doctor and Course Development
Location: Remote, USA

Position Summary
The JFK School of Law in the College of Law and Public Service invites applications for part-time faculty in the Juris Doctor program with experience in course development for JD programs, JD-level curricula, or attorney training. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for excellence in, teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university's diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Associate Dean, Academic Program Director, and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.
Essential Functions
  • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
  • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
  • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
  • Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
  • Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution
  • Background in legal doctrine and practice along with experience in JD program or JD-level instruction or presentation on legal topics
  • Ability to create substantive course content
  • Proficiency in the use of technology preferably in the delivery of legal education

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the online delivery of education and the systems that support it
  • 2+ years of online teaching experience especially in a JD program or at a JD level.
  • Curriculum development experience
