Windows Systems Engineer
Springfield, VA
Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
The Junior Windows Systems Engineer supports the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Windows-based systems within a secure, mission-critical environment. This role works closely with the DevOps team and senior engineers to assist in system installation, patching, and performance monitoring across classified networks. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day Windows operations, monitoring system performance, and identifying potential issues to maintain consistent uptime and efficiency. The engineer will respond to user incidents, provide Tier II-level troubleshooting, and document resolutions to ensure repeatable and efficient processes.
Additional duties include maintaining accurate records of system performance metrics, assisting with Active Directory and Group Policy management, and supporting cloud-integrated environments such as AWS. The role also contributes to developing user training materials and onboarding documentation for new personnel.
Required Experience:
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server and workstation environments, including patching, imaging, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and basic PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience supporting AWS or hybrid Windows-to-cloud deployments.
