Job Summary
HII is seeking a Computer Support 1 professional to provide onsite operational support for computer, network, and client-server environments. The position supports a continuous 24x7x365 operation and involves monitoring production batch processing, reviewing system activity and error indicators, maintaining operational records, and communicating issues to analysts, management, and team leads.
The ideal candidate is a quick learner and self-starter with strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, communication, and multitasking abilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform computer, network, LAN/WAN, and client-server support activities.
  • Process and monitor production batch jobs in a multi-system environment.
  • Monitor systems and equipment using monitoring software and console interfaces.
  • Identify and respond to operator messages, system alerts, and error indicators.
  • Review input data for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.
  • Review output data to verify accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Monitor daily processing logs and assist with production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production records and shift reports.
  • Maintain data center and visitor badging logs as required.
  • Catalog, distribute, and return tapes, disks, or other operational media when applicable.
  • Communicate job failures and technical issues to analysts, management, and team leads.
  • Follow established procedures and operational requirements.
  • Work independently with limited supervision while escalating issues when necessary.
  • Support a safe, organized, and reliable operational environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree with 0 years of experience, or
  • 2 years of related experience may substitute for the Associate's Degree, or
  • 4 years of non-related experience may substitute for the Associate's Degree.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify system issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
