Job description

Overview

LMI is seeking a Junior SharePoint and Power BI Engineer with demonstrated experience building enterprise SharePoint environments and Power BI analytics solutions to support a United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) mission partner.

LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.

Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government, efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors-helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.

This position requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret.

Responsibilities

As a Junior SharePoint and Power BI Engineer, you will design, build, and operate the collaboration and reporting backbone for a fast-moving technical organization in direct support of the warfighter.

On the SharePoint side, you will architect site structures, information architecture, and permission models in SharePoint Online; build modern sites, communication hubs, and document libraries with metadata, content types, and retention; and develop SPFx web parts or Power Apps integrations where out-of-the-box does not fit.

On the Power BI side, you will build production-grade semantic models, write performant DAX, design clean and decision-ready dashboards, and operate workspaces with proper deployment pipelines, row-level security, and refresh schedules. You will turn raw data into the visuals senior leaders actually use to make decisions.

You will partner with the Data Engineering and Power Platform teams, so SharePoint and Power BI consume curated, governed data and so apps, sites, and reports work as one connected experience.

You proactively solve unusual and/or complex problems with little, or no direction given and thrive in a fast-paced technical environment that prioritizes mission impact and speed.

You are experienced with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and you can build the deck for an executive review and brief it.

Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
  • Minimum of 2-years of combined hands-on experience with SharePoint Online and Power BI in enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated experience architecting SharePoint Online: site collections, hubs, information architecture, content types, and permission models
  • Strong Power BI skills: semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), workspace administration, deployment pipelines, and row-level security
  • Experience integrating SharePoint and Power BI with the broader Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystem
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PnP PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph
  • Experience operating in a governed environment with DLP policies, sensitivity labels, and tenant-level administration

Desired Qualifications

  • Active DoD Top-Secret Clearance
  • Microsoft Certifications: PL-300, MS-700, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 GCC High and Azure Government
  • Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate for end-to-end solutions
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and the broader data platform
  • Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or Special Operations customers
  • UI/UX sensibility for executive-grade dashboards and modern SharePoint sites

Target Salary Range: $102,000 - $140,000
