From bridge and structural engineering to civil, electrical, mechanical, and process engineering, Kleinfelder's collaborative Design Services create synergy across multiple disciplines. 

Step into Your New Role 

Kleinfelder is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will provide mechanical engineering support to the project team, ensuring all aspects of facility and site design in both public and private sectors meet project specifications and goals. This position will involve completing the design of moderate to complex projects as well as providing guidance and work assignments to designers and technicians. This position is available at our Perrysburg, OH office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical calculations and develop work packages and engineering documents.
  • Interpret and apply all applicable federal, state and/or local codes.
  • Execute thorough technical reviews of design documentation and provide actionable feedback.
  • Analyze technical issues within the Mechanical Engineering discipline, aided and supported by the other specialist disciplines.
  • Conduct field investigations to determine existing conditions.
  • Travel to field for project scoping, verification, construction support, and meeting with clients.
  • Report to Mechanical Discipline Lead on progress of work and ensure coordination between the engineering, design, and project management teams.
  • Mentor, direct work, and supervise junior team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training certificate required. Professional Engineering License in the state of Ohio preferred.
  • 4-8 years of progressive professional mechanical engineering.
  • LEED certification a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial HVAC and Plumbing design for new construction and renovation of buildings.
  • AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practices.
