Job description

Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features. Our client is looking for a Game Designer to help shape their next ambitious project: a new 3D top-down factory game entering prototyping in early 2026. If you enjoy creating smart systems, balancing complexity with clarity, and designing games that reward creative problem-solving, this role could be a great fit.

You'll join a small, passionate, fully remote indie team focused on building high-quality factory and automation experiences, and play a key role in defining the gameplay vision from the ground up. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and iterate on mechanics, systems, interfaces, and gameplay loops. Collaborate closely with the Game Director and cross-disciplinary team members to define the game's vision and ensure a cohesive experience.

Write clear and concise design documentation and communicate effectively with artists and developers. Ensure gameplay features are consistent, balanced, and intuitive for players. Support production by helping plan and organise design-related work.

REQUIREMENTS Strong understanding of and passion for factory and automation games. You don't have to be in the credits for designing one, but you need to like, play and understand what makes them fun. 4–5+ years of professional experience as a Game Designer, ideally with at least one commercially successful title shipped on Steam.

Experience designing gameplay systems and mechanics for PC titles. Clear communicator with an organised and collaborative work style. Flexible availability across time zones from Brazil (BRT) up to Central Europe (CEST) NICE TO HAVE Background in indie or remote team environments.

Experience with factory game modding (if you've modded Factorio or Satisfactory – perfect) Familiarity with iterative development and early-stage prototyping. WHAT THEY OFFER Fully remote, full-time position with flexible scheduling. Healthy work-life balance culture, and paid overtime when it happens.

Monthly personal growth allowance for courses, books, or other learning materials. Focus days dedicated to researching or learning new skills Team gatherings are organised once a year to meet and collaborate in person. Budget to set up or upgrade your home workspace, including the hardware of your choice.

Yearly salary review to ensure your pay keeps pace with market standards, and an automatic increase of 2% per year. ABOUT THE COMPANY A small indie studio focused on creating thoughtful, deeply satisfying factory and automation games that players truly love. The team started with web games, found success on PC, and has since grown into a distributed team delivering highly rated simulation experiences.

The studio values: Direct communication and ownership over unnecessary bureaucracy. Player-first design shaped by close collaboration with the community. Long-term partnerships with people who want to grow alongside their projects.

Team size: ~12 people, slowly growing Work mode: Fully remote Engine: Unity Platform: PC #J-18808-Ljbffr
