Job description

Job Summary: The Systems Analyst III is responsible for the advanced support, and maintenance of Westchester Medical Center systems and applications.  These responsibilities involve software and technology upgrades, installations, maintenance, patches, quality testing, and technical support.  System Analyst III will perform advanced troubleshooting tasks using established tools and protocols. They will render support and shadow end users to ensure access, functional capability and performance. The Systems Analyst III will also be responsible for performing upgrades, troubleshooting issues and verifications of system availability and performance.  An understanding of business requirements across areas involved, e.g. clinical, ancillary, administrative and financial areas, is necessary.  As senior member of the team, they will document activities, resolutions, and other outcomes throughout the lifecycle of a problem or project’s implementation. System analyst III will coordinate and collaborate with other WMC IT Teams in the support of systems, project rollout, problem resolution, end user support.  The senior team member will assist junior members of the team on advanced aspects of the aforementioned areas for growth and knowledge.  They are considered a SME for their team across the WMC enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Function as part of a team in support of technology systems, infrastructure, interfaces, peripherals
  • Conducts troubleshooting analyses to resolve technical issues and failures
  • Perform both proactive and reactive oversight to system and application availability and stability
  • Render support to stakeholders / end users as necessary in support of system availability
  • Participate in project implementation assignments
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other WMC departments and IT Teams in support of project rollout, site and infrastructure readiness, problem resolution, end user support
  • Conduct site surveys, collect and analyze data
  • Development of project plans, dependencies, timelines and contingencies 
  • Document status of assignments and render timely reporting of project status, outcomes and problems
  • Acts as liaison with end users for system access and usage
  • Coordinate activities with vendors and other outside resources in support of problem resolution.
  • Coordinate activities with outside resources in support of system implementation or upgrade
  • Evaluates new reporting requirements and develops modifications to existing information systems to satisfy these requirements.
  • Assist manager of team with advanced technical problems, projects and oversight of operation
  • Serve in advisor capacity with junior members of the team.  Provide direction and oversight and training on an as needed basis.
  • Act as backup manager, as necessary, to ensure continued operations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:

  • 6 years of IT application support and/or data analysis, required
  • Experience in healthcare technology support, including hardware or infrastructure, preferred
  • Experience in device management/integration, preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, science, or related, required
  • Master’s degree, preferred

Other:  Knowledge of computer systems and applications in meeting medical data reporting requirements; knowledge of program planning and evaluation techniques; ability to compile, analyze and interpret medical data and forecast trends; ability to work well with medical professionals; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments; good judgment; initiative; accuracy; thoroughness; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
