Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Level Structural Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Birmingham, AL. This role is ideal for an experienced Civil/Structural Engineering professional who is ready to serve as a Discipline Lead on complex, multi-discipline industrial facility projects.
As the Senior Level Structural Engineer, you will lead structural design efforts, guide engineers and designers, make key technical recommendations, and ensure high-quality project deliverables from early concept through construction. This opportunity offers a collaborative in-office environment where experienced professionals work closely across structural, civil, mechanical, process, electrical, and architectural disciplines.
The role is well suited for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring, client interaction, and seeing projects move successfully from planning to completed construction. Candidates can expect a professional team environment with supportive leadership, strong collaboration, opportunities to influence project direction, and a clear path to continue growing as a senior technical leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Lead Structural Engineer for small and large projects, managing assigned engineering and design staff for quality, budget, and schedule.
- Develop structural design concepts, establish project scope, define structural budgets, and recommend design approaches.
- Design and review structural systems and components for industrial facilities using applicable codes and client requirements.
- Oversee construction drawings, specifications, technical reports, study reports, calculations, and related project documentation.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal multi-discipline teams to support successful project delivery.
- Mentor junior staff and participate in site visits to gather design data, support client relationships, and observe construction progress.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $125,000 to $150,000 per year.
