Description

The Software QA Engineer will provide quality assurance for the development, operations, and maintenance of HITRUST service and product lines. The Software QA Engineer will work closely with the product development team to provide accurate problem analysis, short-term fixes and recommended enhancements and testing. In this role, you will be required to interact with multiple divisions across Engineering and HITRUST to resolve issues.


As a Software QA Engineer, you will: 

  • Become familiar with the HITRUST SaaS platform ecosystem and the user base and services they support. 
  • Examine production software and perform ongoing testing and analysis of performance, user experience, and security requirements. 
  • Define and document product testing and acceptance procedures following established best practices, including automated and manual methods. 
  • Perform regression, and integration testing as part of the software development lifecycle. 
  • Contribute to test automation efforts and build automated test scripts using selected testing frameworks (ex. Playwright).
  • Coordinate with Engineering teams, including product development, architecture, and customer support to resolve unexpected issues and deviations from quality standard.
  • Assist in Report on testing progress and quality metrics to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the managing of quality risks by participating in design reviews, providing feedback on testability, and adhering to quality gates.
  • Utilize office productivity suite software to perform common management functions relating to job performance, in addition to updating or reviewing existing documentation. 
  • Be an active participant in the development, implementation, and maturation of quality control process.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and opportunities to improve engineering process and product success. 
  • Be a strong advocate and change agent for the Agile/Scrum process.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior software QA engineers.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years' experience in software quality assurance or a related role.
  • A deep understanding of software testing standards and best practices in an Agile environment.
  • A deep understanding of Web technologies.
  • Experience with issue tracking and process management tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines and version control tools (ex. GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines)
  • Extensive experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, accessibility, and regression testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of API testing tools, such as Postman.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing frameworks.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages.
  • Experience with JIRA and Zephyr.
  • Passionate advocate of Agile best practices and tools.
  • Proficiency with the entire SDLC and the role of QA within each stage.
