What is a junior Salesforce developer?

A Junior Salesforce Developer (Remote) is an entry-level professional who works from a remote location to help design, develop, and maintain applications on the Salesforce platform. They typically assist in customizing Salesforce to meet a business’s needs, fix bugs, and support more senior developers with coding and integration tasks. Junior Salesforce Developers usually have foundational knowledge of Salesforce, Apex (Salesforce’s programming language), and basic web technologies. This role is ideal for those starting their careers in Salesforce development and looking to gain hands-on experience while working remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a junior Salesforce developer?

To thrive as a Junior Salesforce Developer (Remote), you need a solid understanding of Salesforce fundamentals, proficiency in Apex, Lightning, and SOQL, and often a relevant degree or Salesforce certification (such as Salesforce Platform Developer I). Familiarity with Salesforce development tools like Visual Studio Code, Git, and the Salesforce CLI is typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and the ability to work independently are standout soft skills for this remote role.
