Description
Overview
The Special Projects Sales Engineer is responsible for developing, estimating, selling, and managing special projects in a professional and efficient manner. This role works closely with the estimating team, engineering, project coordinators, and the Special Projects (SP) Manager to deliver accurate proposals and ensure projects are executed in accordance with ASSC and customer standards.
Requirements
The Special Projects Sales Engineer is responsible for the following:
  1. Collaborate with Special Projects Project Coordinators to ensure project support objectives are met in accordance with quality standards established by the SP Manager.
  2. Maintain regular, direct contact with assigned key accounts to support ongoing relationships and business development.
  3. Actively prospect and secure new business through cold calling and outreach to general contractors, property managers, facility managers, and other potential clients.
  4. Follow up on sales leads generated through the Service Department in both the Sacramento and Bay Area markets.
  5. Build and maintain strong customer relationships that generate repeat business and new project opportunities for the ASSC Special Projects team.
  6. Coordinate project design efforts in collaboration with the Engineering team.
  7. Ensure required equipment and materials are available on-site in accordance with the project schedule, working with Project Coordinators and General Superintendents.
  8. Conduct project kick-off meetings with appropriate internal and external stakeholders in accordance with SP team standards.
  9. Ensure approved project estimates are converted into budgets and schedules of values within two weeks of receiving a signed proposal or contract.
  10. Review project budgets with Field Staff and Superintendents prior to submission to Accounting.
  11. Actively manage project schedules and costs, comparing planned versus actual performance, and take immediate corrective action when issues arise. Communicate any concerns promptly to the SP Manager.
  12. Ensure all change order authorizations are received prior to the start of additional work or that follow-up documentation is completed as soon as practicable.
  13. Provide resources and support to Project Coordinators for the preparation and submission of project submittals.
  14. Meet established monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  15. Maintain and update the sales pipeline daily.
  16. Ensure complete project closeout packages are prepared and submitted by Project Coordinators in accordance with contract requirements to prevent delays in final billing or retention release.
  17. Provide the Service Sales Manager with project contacts and equipment submittals/lists to support the transition into project maintenance contracts.
  18. Support Accounting by providing project data for invoicing, contract tracking, and collections as needed.
  19. Utilize company resources-including the estimating team, SP Manager, engineering team, and field personnel-to develop and deliver customer proposals, estimates, and presentations.
  20. Review personal performance objectives with the SP Manager on a bi-monthly basis and revise objectives as appropriate.
  21. Report to work on time and maintain a dependable attendance record.
  22. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a professional manner.
  23. Comply with all company policies, rules, and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  24. Perform additional duties as assigned by the SP Manager, Service Operations Manager, or General Manager.
  25. Update the CIP report monthly, on time, in accordance with requirements set by the CFO or Controller.

Salary Description
$65,000.00 - 95,000.00 based on experience
