Position Description:

Outpost Technologies is seeking a Junior Electrical Technician to support the assembly, integration, installation, and testing of a Mobile Command and Control (C2) platform supporting Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) testing across CONUS. This role is responsible for the hands-on integration of networking, compute, communications, and supporting infrastructure in both laboratory and deployed environments. 

The Junior Electrical Technician will help build, configure, troubleshoot, and validate complex mission systems while supporting laboratory integration, trailer installation, system verification, and customer field events. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with hardware, solving technical problems, and supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects. 


The posted compensation range represents the expected pay range for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may be higher or lower than the stated range based on factors such as relevant experience, education, certifications, specialized expertise, geographic considerations, market conditions, and alignment with internal compensation structures and government contracting requirements.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, and integrate networking, compute, communications, video, and supporting hardware. 
  • Install rack-mounted equipment, cable assemblies, power distribution components, and peripheral devices. 
  • Configure workstations, servers, network appliances, and supporting infrastructure. 
  • Assist with deployment of virtualization, storage, and enterprise computing solutions. 
  • Perform system imaging, hardware deployment, and equipment configuration. 
  • Build and maintain a laboratory environment that replicates the Mobile C2 platform. 
  • Prepare, organize, and inventory equipment used during system integration activities. 
  • Execute integration procedures and test plans developed C2 team. 
  • Perform functional, integration, and operational testing of hardware and software systems. 
  • Troubleshoot hardware, networking, software, and infrastructure issues during integration and testing. 
  • Document test results, corrective actions, and configuration changes. 
  • Assist with system verification, validation, and customer demonstrations. 
  • Support Windows and Linux systems through routine administration, software installation, patching, backups, and user account management. 
  • Assist with virtualization, storage management, infrastructure monitoring, and cybersecurity hardening activities. 
  • Prepare cabling and wiring for laboratory and trailer installation. 
  • Install and organize equipment within vehicle racks while maintaining cable management and documentation. 
  • Support trailer integration, final system checkout, and field deployment activities. 
  • Update technical documentation, equipment inventories, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and as-built documentation. 


Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. 
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field (equivalent experience may be substituted). 
  • 2+ years of experience supporting systems integration, networking, IT infrastructure, electronics, or technical field support. 
  • Experience installing and configuring Windows and/or Linux systems. 
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, structured cabling, hardware installation, and enterprise IT systems. 
  • Experience working with rack-mounted equipment, cable management, and hardware integration. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system documentation. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Approximately 15% travel. 
  • On-site work only (Huntsville, AL). 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting DoD, government, or mission-critical operational environments. 
  • Experience supporting Mobile Command and Control (C2), tactical, or expeditionary systems. 
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, or other virtualization technologies. 
  • Experience supporting NAS/SAN storage, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), or enterprise computing environments. 
  • Familiarity with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages. 
  • Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, or system integration tools. 
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, cybersecurity best practices, or RMF requirements. 
  • Experience supporting audiovisual, communications, or command-and-control systems. 
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring or endpoint management tools. 
  • Experience working in laboratory integration or field installation environments.
