Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Project Sponsor to be based in Northern California.  This challenging position will focus on all aspects of the project lifecycle while maintiaining positive client relationships and building impactful teams.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Directs and manages junior project managers, either within the organization structure of a large capital project or multiple smaller projects.
  • Fosters client relationships and resolves issues escalated by junior project managers.
  • Guides project teams through the collaborative delivery process.
  • Manages project lifecycle from procurement through preconstruction, construction, and close out.
  • Coordinates corporate resources to the benefit of project success.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops junior staff.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 10 years of relevant project delivery experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Must have GC/CM or similar collaborative project delivery model experience.
  • Extensive expeirence executing complex water/wastewater heavy civil construction projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater project expeirence. 
  • Experience working with clients in the greater northern California region.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.
  • Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skill.

The salary range for this position is between $220,000 - $270,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
