Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager oversees large, complex projects in the construction and material handling industries, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical and contractual requirements. Serving as the primary customer interface, this role leads multi‑disciplinary teams and subcontractors, manages risk and financial performance, and mentors junior project managers to drive successful outcomes on projects valued at $50M+.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Assume administrative, contractual, technical, and financial control of assigned projects.
  • Organize and lead the project team; supervise and mentor Project Managers (levels 1 and 2).
  • Preserve integrated system design to meet performance and technical specification requirements.
  • Manage the project master schedule to achieve timely completion of contracts.
  • Provide monthly project status reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary interface with customers, ensuring strong relationships and clear communication.
  • Lead multi-disciplined teams and subcontractors, managing conflict, establishing priorities, and coordinating concurrent activities.
  • Promote effective collaboration among departments and foster team development.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Travel as required, including extended periods during commissioning and acceptance phases.
  • Manage project cash flow and deliverables against price/time curves, exercising overall profit responsibility.
Qualifications/ Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience, with a proven track record of successfully delivering medium to large projects ($50M+).
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction and/or material handling industry.
  • Strong leadership capability to build, unify, and motivate project teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (verbal and written).
Preferred skills/ Qualifications
  • Vanderlande ICs, platform solution experience strongly preferred
  • Primavera P6, Smartsheet or Asana
  • JD Edwards, Oracle ERP – for financial oversight, cash flow management, and deliverables tracking.
  • Excel (Advanced), AutoCAD / Revit
  • Power BI or Tableau – for project dashboards, risk tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt / Black Belt)
Skills/ Competencies
  • Independent decision‑making ability with strong financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated subcontractor management experience.
  • Ability to manage diverse internal disciplines and complex stakeholder groups, including consultants within the airport and security industry.
  • Sound knowledge of contract law and its application in project environments.
Travel:

This role requires 50% travel domestically and internationally.
