Jr. Security Specialist

Odyssey is seeking a Jr. Security Specialist for our Beavercreek, OH office. The Jr. Security Specialist will support the security team in the day-to-day operation of the industrial security program and personnel clearance program. Working under direct supervision, this role focuses on task execution, data management, and learning the regulatory framework that governs Odyssey's security operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Security Manager, AFSO, and Security Specialists to ensure contract security compliance with applicable regulations (NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117, DoD SAP/SCI Community and Intelligence Community directives, applicable ICDs, etc.). This is a full-time role in Beavercreek, OH with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to:

  • File, update, and report employee information in national security databases (DISS, NBIS) under the direction of the Security Manager or Sr. Security Specialist.
  • Process incoming and outgoing visit authorizations and corporate badging.
  • Assist with travel security briefings, VISA travel research, trip report completion, and status reports.
  • Support clearance investigation and reinvestigation processing, including data entry and status tracking.
  • Assist with Security Education and Training coordination, including scheduling, tracking completion, and maintaining records.
  • Maintain, sort, and compile security data for management reports, proposal support, and corporate data collection.
  • Support self-inspections and security assessments by gathering documentation and tracking findings.
  • Work with government customers on issuance, renewal, return, and tracking of government-issued credentials.
  • Perform general administrative security tasks as assigned to support the overall security program.

Qualifications Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications Clearance: Secret Education: High School Diploma Years of Experience: 0 - 2 years of experience in a security, administrative, or military role. Military experience with security-adjacent duties (access control, personnel management, classified material handling) qualifies. Certifications: N/A Preferred Qualifications Clearance: TS or TS/SCI Education: Associate's degree or coursework toward a Bachelor's degree in Security, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or a related field. Years of experience: 2 years of experience in a security, administrative, or military role. Military experience with security-adjacent duties (access control, personnel management, classified material handling) qualifies. Certifications: Completion of CDSE training courses (e.g., Insider Threat Awareness, Introduction to Industrial Security) or SFPC. Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with government databases such as DISS or NBIS.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced corporate or government office environment.
  • Computer skills: Familiarity with government databases, such as DISS (Defense Information Security System) and NBIS (National Background Investigation Services). Knowledge of business software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office, etc.
