Pay Range: $50,000-$72,000/yr + bonus and incentives Mortgage Processing Analyst/Junior Underwriter Job Overview: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Processing Analyst/Junior Underwriter to join their growing mortgage operations team

This individual will be responsible for processing and underwriting first mortgage loans while ensuring compliance with established lending guidelines and timelines. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume pipeline in a fast-paced environment. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.

What you will be doing as a Mortgage Processing Analyst/Junior Underwriter ... Mortgage Processing & Underwriting Review first mortgage applications for accuracy and completeness within the mortgage processing system. Underwrite conventional mortgage loans in accordance with established guidelines and requirements

Analyze applicant credit, income, assets, debt-to-income ratios, and collateral documentation to determine creditworthiness. Review and evaluate appraisals, title work, insurance documentation, deeds, and related collateral items. Issue credit decisions and communicate underwriting conditions required for loan approval.

Prepare and clear residual conditions to ensure complete and compliant loan files. Maintain underwriting turn times and manage loan files within established deadlines. Loan Operations & Documentation Order and manage required documentation including verifications of employment, tax transcripts, credit supplements, insurance, title work, condo questionnaires, subordination requests, and payoff statements.

Ensure all application, appraisal, and processing fees are collected and processed according to policy. Schedule loan closings and prepare files for closing. Obtain and review preliminary title commitments from title companies.

Maintain and prioritize an active pipeline of loans to ensure closing dates and service expectations are met. Member & Partner Communication Assist members by answering calls within the Mortgage Operations department queue. Communicate with applicants, creditors, real estate agents, title companies, and vendors to resolve questions or obtain additional documentation.

Deliver a high level of customer service throughout the mortgage process. Compliance & Risk Management Maintain a strong understanding of underwriting and secondary market lending criteria. Ensure compliance with lending regulations, internal policies, and underwriting standards.

Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential red flags or fraudulent activity. Participate in and respond to internal and external audits as needed. Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Mortgage Processing Analyst/Junior Underwriter ..

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years of mortgage processing, underwriting, or related lending experience. Strong understanding of mortgage lending products, underwriting procedures, and secondary market guidelines.

Experience analyzing financial documentation including income, assets, credit, and appraisals. Ability to manage a high-volume workload while meeting strict deadlines. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Experience working within mortgage processing systems and standard office technology.
