Senior Pega /Java Application Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Pega Application Engineer with at least 8 years of hands-on Pega development experience. The consultant will support the implementation and expansion of Pega capabilities across Personal, Commercial, and Specialty Insurance lines.

The project uses Pega Constellation with React for front-end development and Java for back-end services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise applications using Pega.
  • Support Pega 24 and Pega Constellation implementations.
  • Develop custom components using Constellation SDKs and React.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Pega solutions.
  • Develop and integrate Java/J2EE back-end services.
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams.
  • Perform code reviews and enforce development standards.
  • Troubleshoot application, integration, and environment issues.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, QA teams, and offshore resources.
  • Support DevOps, deployments, testing, and multiple application environments.
  • Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend effective solutions.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of hands-on Pega development experience.
  • Strong experience with Pega 24.
  • Experience with Pega Constellation, Constellation SDKs, and custom component development.
  • 5+ years of Java/J2EE web application development experience.
  • Strong experience with React and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Java, Tomcat, JSON, REST integrations, CSS3, and HTML5.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development principles.
  • Experience with UX concepts and responsive web application development.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps tools.
  • Experience with source control, code reviews, build processes, testing, and deployments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Pega Certified Lead System Architect certification.
  • Experience with AngularJS, AJAX, and jQuery.
  • Property and Casualty insurance industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
