Job description

Hi, we’re Speks – a Brooklyn-based (soon to be Manhattan) design company bringing fun back into the workplace with innovative, adult-focused products. We’re growing fast and are looking for a detail oriented Junior Packaging Production Designer to join our team and ensure our packaging and display requirements are pixel perfect and clearly communicated to our manufacturing partners.

This full-time, in-office role is based in DUMBO, Brooklyn. You'll sit under our Packaging Designer, working at the intersection of design and production to make sure every package we ship is built exactly as intended.

What You'll Do

  • Build packaging tech packs: create detailed factory-facing documents covering packaging and display artwork, component assembly (like sticker seals), display pack-out order, inner carton configuration, and master carton configuration.
  • Support international expansion: help adapt tech packs and artwork for our lines as they expand into new markets, including updating warning language and packaging specs to meet local requirements.
  • Manage packaging overflow: jump in on packaging updates and revisions as our product line grows, keeping documentation accurate and current.
  • Keep it all organized: maintain clear, consistent tech pack files and documentation systems so factories, our team, and vendors are always working from the same accurate source.
  • Collaborate closely: work hand-in-hand with our Packaging Designer and factory contacts to catch issues before they become production problems.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: background in packaging, structural, print production design, and graphic design.
  • Detail-obsessed: you catch the small stuff. A missed component or wrong carton count matters to you.
  • Tool fluency: comfortable in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Print production basics: understanding of dielines, color callouts, materials, and finishing.
  • Process-oriented: you like working within systems and templates, and you're organized enough to keep documentation clean and consistent.
  • Eager to grow: this is a junior role with real room to develop into a stronger packaging production career.
  • Bonus points for experience in Asana and Figma.

Why You'll Like Working Here

At Speks, you'll join a team of bright, passionate individuals in a sunny, vibrant DUMBO office. Along with competitive pay, you'll enjoy:

  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • 401(k) plan
  • A collaborative, creative work environment where you'll make an impact
