The Associate Packaging Designer will support the packaging design team across multiple designated brands in designing cost-effective, attractive, functional, and safe packaging for our consumer products. You will be responsible for assisting in the conceptualization, design, and execution of prototypes for attention-grabbing packaging materials, using design elements such as shape, color, graphics, and typography to create packaging that resonates with our target markets.
What You Will Do:
- Develop innovative packaging design systems (graphics and structure)
- Prepare sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, and artwork, using Adobe Creative Suite
- Work collaboratively to develop and implement strategies across toy lines
- Regularly attend meetings with cross-functional departments
- Collaborating with graphic designers and copywriters to finalize packaging text and graphics
- Brainstorming packaging ideas using hand sketches, verbal cues, words, and design software
- Ensuring packaging designs accurately represent the company’s brand
- Packaging die line template creation or modification
- Completing final mock-up designs using computer modeling software
- Prepare submissions for licensor approval

What We Look For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, art, industrial design or related field preferred
- 0 - 2 years of package design experience
- Strong graphic design skills
- An eye for innovation and creativity
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop productive professional relationships
- Effective and efficient visual, verbal, and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of printing processes (4 color, spot colors, mechanical preparation, paper stock, and file formats)
- Clear understanding of print expectations, including, bleeds, die lines, retouching, formats, resolution, etc.
- Exhibit interest and proactively gains knowledge of the current trends/innovations as well as an understanding the competitive marketplace in the toy industry
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office & G-Suite
- Strong proficiency in adobe creative suite (illustrator, photoshop, and indesign)
- Able to work cross functionally and reciprocally with multiple departments
- Able to work independently or collaboratively

- Basic project management skills
- Knowledge of materials and multiple manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of working with licensed brands

The base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, and location. Eligibility for the annual performance incentive may apply. Jazwares is a multi-state employer, so the salary range may not apply to other states.
