Job description

A global provider of Print, Packaging, and Workflow solutions for customers in the Pharmaceutical Industry, is seeking a hands-on structural designer for marketing work with Artios CAD experience and knowledge of the folding carton packaging industry.

General Description
The Structural Designer will provide innovative, structurally sound packaging solutions in a timely manner for customers in the Pharmaceutical and retail product industries. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and effectively communicating cost-effective solutions with customers, external vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions

  • As part of a collaborative team, create high-end structural designs for folding cartons and structural marketing materials.
  • Deliver 3D renderings and physical packaging prototypes for customer presentations.
  • Provide die lines for clients, prepress, and estimating.
  • Organize and manage all digital die lines.
  • Order cutting tooling and communicate with die manufacturers.
  • Ensure designs meet all customer specifications and standards.
  • Work within all established protocols and procedures and develop new processes as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with design team members to identify and develop the best possible packaging solution.
  • Effectively communicate design decisions and detailed production requirements.
  • Maintain clear organization of large ongoing projects involving a multitude of components and revisions.

Qualifications:

  • General understanding the entire design process from concept to prototyping to production is a must.
  • General understanding of folding cartons, die cutting and gluing is a must. 
  • Experience with the manufacturing of cutting dies is a must.
  • Knowledge and experience in a packaging design software is a must. ArtiosCAD experience is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience in 3D programs a plus but not required.
