  • Perform generation portfolio and resource optimization analyses
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations planning, transmission planning, and member services
  • Support regulatory compliance efforts and develop technical documentation
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders

At advanced levels, this role may also:

  • Lead complex modeling initiatives and analytical framework development
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in operations planning and grid analytics
  • Represent GSOC in industry working groups and technical committees
  • Mentor junior analysts and drive continuous improvement in analytical processes

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (Engineering degrees are a plus); will consider a combination of experience and/or education
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
  • Proficiency in tools such as Python, SQL, and Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business insights
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams

Preferred Qualifications

Power Systems Knowledge, Technical & Data Platforms and Professional Credentials

  • Understanding of electric utility operations and power flow analysis
  • Familiarity with load forecasting, generation dispatch, and resource planning concepts
  • Exposure to utility systems such as SCADA or EMS and power flow tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerWorld, TARA)
  • Experience with data analytics platforms such as Databricks and visualization tools like Power BI
  • PMP, EIT, or PE certifications are a plus

Leveling Overview

  • Analyst II – Developing contributor; supports modeling, reporting, and analytical activities
