Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Recruiting Associate opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN to support our Nationwide Team in delivering high-quality staffing solutions to the U.S. Department of Energy and related nuclear and industrial environments.
This role is ideal for a junior to entry level professional who is organized, proactive, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is interested in building a long-term career in technical and government contracting recruitment.
The Recruiting Associate will provide a combination of candidate sourcing, recruiting coordination, and administrative support, playing a critical role in maintaining recruiting operations, candidate pipelines, and compliance-driven hiring processes. This position offers significant opportunity for professional development within a DOE subcontractor environment.
This position is full time in our Oak Ridge, TN office with the following job scope:
Key Responsibilities:
Candidate Sourcing & Recruiting Support
  • Source and identify qualified candidates using internal databases, job boards, professional networks, social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn), referrals, and job fairs
  • Proactively contact active and passive candidates via phone, email, and social media to discuss current and future opportunities
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for technical, professional, and hard-to-fill industry positions
  • Conduct market and labor research to support sourcing strategies and workforce planning
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and recruiting partners
  • Support recruiters with candidate screening coordination and follow-up communications

Recruiting Administrative & Operational Support
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and internal databases
  • Assist with job posting creation, posting management, and posting updates across multiple platforms
  • Coordinate interview logistics, including scheduling, candidate communications, and document preparation
  • Track recruiting metrics and generate regular activity, sourcing, and pipeline reports
  • Support compliance-related documentation requirements typical of government contracting environments
  • Assist with onboarding coordination, offer documentation, and pre-employment process tracking
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive candidate and company information

Qualifications and Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1+ years of experience related to recruiting, HR coordination, or administrative support preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, interruption-driven environment
  • Demonstrated time management skills and follow-through
  • Understanding of general business and professional services practices
  • Ability to learn and understand technical job requirements within the DOE and nuclear industry
  • Experience supporting government contracting or regulated industries is a plus
  • Professional, proactive, and adaptable demeanor with a team player mentality
