Overview

CTG is seeking motivated and customer-focused Field Services Technicians to support desktop and end-user device operations for a valued client in Nashville, TN. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with foundational IT experience or training to grow their careers in a dynamic and hands-on technical environment.

Location: Onsite, Nashville, TN

Hours:7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The candidate must have a reliable personal vehicle to travel between customer sites throughout the Greater Nashville area. All work‑related mileage is fully reimbursed, and the role involves regular local travel to support field services activities.

The Field Services Technology Team provides onsite support for technology‑focused projects, including hardware installs, device imaging, equipment upgrades, and troubleshooting across multiple locations. Technicians travel to customer sites, execute project tasks, resolve technical issues, and ensure all technology deployments meet organizational standards. This team is ideal for hands‑on IT professionals who deliver reliable, high‑quality support in dynamic, fast‑paced environments.

Duties:

  • Perform advanced hands-on computer and endpoint builds, staging, configuration, imaging, and quality validation.
  • Prepare deployment-ready equipment, kits, and assets for field installation and support activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, asset status, serial numbers, and related documentation.
  • Conduct detailed quality checks to identify configuration, hardware, software, and staging defects before deployment.
  • Troubleshoot build and staging issues, resolve operational blockers, and appropriately escalate complex exceptions.
  • Support high-volume warehouse and staging workflows while maintaining accuracy, organization, and accountability.
  • Reconcile asset records and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory and deployment information.
  • Prepare and maintain deployment documentation, checklists, procedures, and handoff materials.
  • Support logistics readiness by ensuring equipment is properly labeled, documented, packaged, and prepared for field delivery.
  • Coach and provide technical guidance to junior technicians to improve consistency, quality, and adherence to procedures.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements to reduce rework and improve repeatability.
  • Collaborate with field technicians, project teams, and other technical resources to support predictable deployment execution.
  • Handle exceptions and non-standard requirements while maintaining established quality and documentation standards.
  • Follow established IT security, asset management, safety, and operational procedures.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, field services, desktop support, endpoint deployment, hardware staging, or a related technical environment.
  • Hands-on experience building, configuring, imaging, testing, and preparing computers or other IT equipment for deployment.
  • Experience with asset tracking, inventory reconciliation, equipment labeling, and deployment documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, imaging, configuration, and connectivity issues.
  • Experience supporting high-volume staging, deployment, or logistics operations preferred.
  • Previous experience mentoring or coaching junior technicians is preferred.
  • Experience handling exceptions and resolving operational issues in a fast-paced environment preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
