Job description

Desktop Support Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to provide exceptional technical support across three locations within a 15-mile service area. The ideal candidate is a dependable IT professional with excellent troubleshooting skills, reliable transportation, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service to both staff and residential clients living on campus.

This position requires regular travel between facilities to install, maintain, and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other technology while ensuring minimal disruption to patient care and daily operations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite desktop and technical support for three healthcare facilities within a 15-mile radius.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, printer, and peripheral issues.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and related equipment.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and document work performed using the organization's ticketing system.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while supporting clinical staff, administrative employees, and residential clients on campus.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding by configuring user accounts, computers, and access to systems.
  • Support Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, email, and standard business software.
  • Perform equipment deployments, replacements, inventory management, and preventative maintenance.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or vendors when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational security policies.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours or on-call support as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of desktop support or help desk experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience supporting Windows workstations, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, printers, and basic networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and work independently.
  • Experience supporting electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems is a plus.

Requirements
