Job Summary
We are seeking a Talent-Acquisition Recruiter for a temp-to-hire opportunity supporting an aerospace and defense recruiting team in the San Diego area. This junior-level recruiting role is ideal for a hands-on corporate recruiter with 3 to 6 years of experience who understands the full recruiting life cycle and enjoys partnering with hiring managers, candidates, and internal talent acquisition teams.
This position offers the opportunity to support a stable, highly regarded technical environment with strong teamwork, structured recruiting processes, and exposure to professional talent acquisition practices. The role is well suited for someone who wants to continue building a long-term recruiting career while working with supportive leadership, experienced recruiters, and cross-functional business partners.
The Talent-Acquisition Recruiter will manage candidate pipelines, source and screen technical talent, support full-time recruiters, coordinate interview activity, and help deliver a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple candidate pipelines and ensure accurate tracking, follow-up, and movement through the recruiting process.
- Source, screen, and engage qualified candidates for technical and professional roles within an aerospace and defense environment.
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, create accurate requisitions, and support effective hiring decisions.
- Provide consultative support to candidates and hiring teams throughout interviews, offers, and pre-employment steps.
- Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies using online platforms, recruiting tools, agencies, and sourcing partners.
- Support recruiting metrics, employment advertising, background check coordination, offer support, and process improvement initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation range: $80,000 to $95,000 per year
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Rancho Bernardo or Poway, CA, with potential to support both sites.
- Schedule: Onsite Monday through Friday on a 9x80 schedule.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage full life cycle recruiting activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing support, offer coordination, and candidate pipeline management.
- Support hiring managers and recruiters with requisitions, candidate evaluation, recruiting metrics, and hiring process execution.
- Source and attract qualified technical candidates for roles aligned with business and workforce needs.
- Maintain a positive candidate experience while representing the organization professionally in all recruiting interactions.
- 3 to 6 years of progressive recruiting or human resources experience.
- Full life cycle recruiting knowledge, including requisition intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer support, and onboarding-related steps.
- Experience managing multiple open roles or candidate pipelines in a fast-paced environment.
- General knowledge of human resources principles, employment practices, recruiting processes, and candidate evaluation methods.
- Strong sourcing skills using online platforms, recruiting tools, job boards, and external recruiting resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document updates and report recruiting activity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, guide, and build relationships with hiring managers, candidates, peers, and external partners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive candidate, employee, and business information.
- Strong computer skills and comfort using applicant tracking systems, recruiting tools, spreadsheets, and reporting resources.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A recognized HR certificate may also be considered in lieu of education.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
- Must be comfortable in an individual contributor role. Manager-level or leadership-level candidates are not targeted for this opening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior corporate talent acquisition or human resources experience.
- Experience recruiting in aerospace, defense, engineering, manufacturing, technical, or highly regulated environments.
- Experience supporting full-time employee recruiting teams and assisting senior recruiters with candidate pipelines.
- Knowledge of recruiting metrics such as sourcing outreach, candidate engagement, pipeline conversion, and offer acceptance rates.
- Experience collaborating with agencies, contractors, sourcing partners, and online advertising representatives.
