Position Summary

The Junior Estimator provides analytical and administrative support to the Estimating team. This role assists in gathering cost data, preparing preliminary calculations, and organizing documentation required for service and project estimates.

The Junior Estimator performs structured support functions under the supervision of an Estimator I or higher and does not independently determine pricing strategy, margin positioning, or financial risk determinations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compile labor, material, and travel data for use in estimate preparation.
  • Request vendor and subcontractor pricing and track responses.
  • Assist with cost entry and documentation in ERP (NetSuite).
  • Review basic equipment specifications and service records.
  • Organize estimate worksheets, supporting documentation, and files.
  • Track historical job cost data for reference in future estimates.
  • Prepare draft estimate summaries for review by Estimator I or higher.
  • Participate in training on NFPA 99 requirements, service workflows, and margin strategy fundamentals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data gathering and documentation updates.

Authority & Discretion

  • Performs work under direct supervision of an Estimator I or higher.
  • Follows established pricing guidelines, margin frameworks, and estimating procedures.
  • Does not independently determine pricing strategy, margin targets, or financial exposure.
  • Does not approve or recommend final pricing without supervisory review.
  • Escalates scope discrepancies or documentation gaps to supervising Estimator.
