The Context

You'll join a technically excellent, Montreal-based team that thrives on persistence and deep capability. As we accelerate, you will work in our engineering team alongside our Product Manager, Customer Service Leader, and CEO to turn complex data challenges into elegant, revenue-generating infrastructure. This is your chance to take a proven platform and help it reach its next level of scale as our primary voice for AI innovation.

What You Will Do

As a core member of our engineering team and our resident AI authority, you will apply a diverse technical toolkit to evolve our platform:

• Lead our AI product Augmentation: Your first mission-critical project will be to create our AI foundation, leading the migration from a relational database to a vector database to enable advanced semantic indexing and semantic search. You will lead the integration of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to revolutionize how agents will be able to search through data products' metadata.
• Backend Architecture: Leverage your deep knowledge of the Java Spring, node.js and whatever tools you will need to be efficient in the AI foundation project and Unix/Linux platforms. You will combine this to build and maintain high-performance, end-to-end services.
• Infrastructure & Scaling: Deploy and manage applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS, ensuring our cloud-native infrastructure is robust and scalable.
• Collaborative Innovation: Effectively communicate (written and spoken) to collaborate with customers and the internal team, translating market needs into technical reality.
• Continuous Growth: Demonstrate a highly motivated, passionate attitude toward technology and a strong desire to learn and implement new tools like vector databases and LLM frameworks.

Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• AI Resident Expert: 2-3 years specifically focused on AI, Machine Learning, and Vector embeddings, LLM orchestration or/and MCP
• Core Stack: Expert-level Java, Python, SQL, and Kubernetes.
• Languages: Fully Bilingual (French and English) is required for this role.
• Build Tools: Understanding of Maven and experience with source code management systems (Git or Mercurial).

Preferable Qualification

• Knowledge of SpringBoot 3.5 applications.
• Experience in scripting with bash or Python.
• Familiarity with financial market data and/or trading systems.
• High interest in AI and huge data sets.
• Experience with Terraform.

Ce que vous ferez

A titre de membre cle de notre equipe d'ingenierie et d'expert resident en IA, vous mettrez a profit un eventail de competences techniques pour faire evoluer notre plateforme :

• Leadership en augmentation produit pour l'IA: Votre premier projet strategique consistera a batir nos fondations IA, notamment en pilotant la migration d'une base de donnees relationnelle vers une base de donnees vectorielle afin de permettre l'indexation semantique avancee et la recherche semantique. Vous dirigerez egalement l'integration de serveurs MCP (Model Context Protocol) afin de revolutionner la maniere dont les agents pourront interroger les metadonnees de produits de donnees.
• Architecture backend: Mettre a profit votre expertise en Java Spring, Node.js ainsi que tout autre outil necessaire a l'efficacite du projet de fondation IA, de meme que votre maitrise des environnements Unix/Linux. Vous combinerez ces competences pour concevoir, batir et maintenir des services performants de bout en bout.
• Infrastructure et mise a l'echelle: Deployer et gerer les applications avec Kubernetes, Docker et AWS, en assurant une infrastructure infonuagique robuste et evolutive.
• Innovation collaborative: Communiquer efficacement, tant a l'ecrit qu'a l'oral, afin de collaborer avec les clients et l'equipe interne, et transformer les besoins du marche en solutions techniques concretes.
• Croissance continue: Faire preuve d'une forte motivation, d'une passion pour la technologie et d'un desir constant d'apprendre et d'implanter de nouveaux outils tels que les bases de donnees vectorielles et les frameworks LLM.

• Experience: 7 ans ou plus d'experience professionnelle en developpement logiciel.
• Expert resident IA: 2 a 3 ans d'experience specifique en intelligence artificielle, apprentissage automatique et embeddings vectoriels.
