What is a Junior IoT Engineer?

Junior IoT Engineers are entry-level professionals who assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Internet of Things (IoT) systems and devices. They typically work under the supervision of senior engineers to design hardware, write software, and ensure that connected devices communicate effectively. Their responsibilities may include troubleshooting issues, conducting tests, and learning about new IoT technologies. Junior IoT Engineers often have a background in computer science, electronics, or related fields, and are eager to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly growing IoT sector.

What do Junior IoT Engineers do?

As a Junior IoT Engineer, you can expect to be involved in hands-on tasks such as setting up and configuring IoT devices, assisting with sensor integration, supporting data collection and analysis, and troubleshooting connectivity issues. You will likely collaborate closely with senior engineers, software developers, and QA teams to ensure devices communicate effectively and securely with backend systems. Over your first year, you may also contribute to documentation, participate in prototype testing, and help monitor deployed IoT solutions. This provides a strong foundation for developing technical skills and understanding the full IoT development lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Junior IoT Engineer?

To thrive as a Junior IoT Engineer, you need a solid understanding of embedded systems, basic programming (often in languages like C, Python, or Java), and a relevant degree in computer science, electronics, or a related field. Job description

Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you've come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

We're intentional, we're unapologetically curious and we're 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.

The E-Space Manufacturing team builds the world's most advanced aerospace products at high rate and high precision.

As a Junior Manufacturing Engineer, you'll learn to design, improve, and scale the processes that build our satellites. Working under a senior manufacturing engineer, you'll support process development, tooling, and new product introduction - building the skills to own production processes of your own. It's a hands-on entry point into manufacturing engineering in a fast-scaling aerospace environment. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering leadership team.

What you'll be doing:
  • Support process design, work instructions, and tooling for satellite production lines under senior guidance.
  • Help bring new products into production - building fixtures, running trials, and documenting routings.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify yield, cycle-time, and quality improvements.
  • Assist with equipment setup, commissioning, and troubleshooting on the floor.
  • Support continuous-improvement efforts (Lean, 5S) and corrective actions.
What you will bring to this role:
  • 0-3 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience (internships, co-ops, and projects count).
  • Foundational understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and DFM.
  • Comfort with data analysis and reading engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on aptitude and eagerness to learn on the production floor.
  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering, or equivalent.
Extra points for the following:
  • Internship or project experience in a production or assembly environment.
  • Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma, CAD, or statistical analysis tools.
  • Aerospace, electronics, or automation manufacturing background.
Additional Requirements
This is a fast-paced, high-impact environment - flexibility to occasionally work extended hours or weekends during critical periods is expected.

This is a full time, exempt position, based out of our Arlington, TX facility.

We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used - so we're looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and direct experience. If that's your experience, then we'll be immediately wow-ed.

E-Space is not currently able to provide employment sponsorship for candidates who do not hold work authorization for the location of this role.

Why E-Space is right for you:

As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving our success. Our team members have a strong sense of dedication and responsibility; this includes a strong commitment to our mission to create an entirely new suite of global capabilities to improve lives, business efficiencies and build a smarter planet. This means that there will be times when extra hours, including nights and weekends, may be needed to meet critical deadlines and mission goals. In return, we offer a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a high-growth industry.

We want you to make the most of your journey at E-Space. That's why we support and invest in the physical, emotional and financial well-being of our team members and their families. Some of what you can expect when working at E-Space:

  • An opportunity to really make a difference
  • Sustainability at our core
  • Fair and honest workplace
  • Innovative thinking is encouraged
  • Competitive salaries
  • Continuous learning and development
  • Health and wellness care options
  • Financial solutions for the future
  • Optional legal services (US only)
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid time off
