Overview
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Henderson, NV to support the continued growth of its Minerals & Metals business
The Henderson office supports mining, industrial and heavy process projects across North America, including concentrators, material handling systems, processing plants and large-scale industrial facilities. The team works on projects from early studies through detailed engineering and construction support, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across the U.S. and Canada.

Your role
  • Act as Mechanical Discipline Lead on medium to large mining and industrial projects.
  • Serve as a technical authority for mechanical systems in concentrators and industrial facilities.
  • Oversee and ensure the performance of discipline deliverables across assigned projects
  • Assess professional effort and provide clear visibility of progress and performance indicators (CPI and SPI) for the discipline, as well as ETC.
  • Participate in conceptual, pre-feasibility, feasibility, and detailed engineering studies.
  • Lead and supervise the production of engineering deliverables (calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports).
  • Prepare or review technical specifications for the procurement and installation of mechanical equipment.
  • Oversee design calculations (pumping systems, water/air networks, slurry systems, piping stress, etc.).
  • Lead the design of tanks, hoppers, chutes, pump boxes, material handling equipment and mechanical structures.
  • Review and validate P&IDs, data sheets, and vendor documentation.
  • Perform technical evaluations of vendor bids and proposals.
  • Supervise and mentor engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Review and approve design calculations, quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Ensure interdisciplinary coordination with process, structural, electrical, civil and instrumentation teams.
  • Support construction, commissioning and field activities as required.

About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the U.S. (Nevada preferred or ability to obtain through reciprocity).
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in industrial and/or mining projects.
  • Strong experience in mining, heavy industrial facilities, mineral processing plants or bulk material handling (major asset).
  • Proven experience as a discipline lead or technical lead.
  • Solid knowledge of North American codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, AISC, etc.).
  • Proficiency with engineering software such as Pipe-Flo, CAESAR II, Sidewinder (asset).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to mentor junior staff and contribute to technical excellence within the group.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
