Description:

The Application/Technical Analyst is responsible for application development, testing, and hands-on support of enterprise systems. In this role, the analyst provides the technical expertise required to ensure system stability and maintain operational continuity. Acting as a support and backup to the Senior Technical Analyst/SQL Developer, this position maintains working knowledge of SQL development, system integrations, reporting, application analysis, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.


Position Title: Application/Technical Analyst

Department: Information Technology

Hours: Full-time 40+ hours/week, Monday – Friday (Exempt)

Location: Lifeworks Services – Richfield/Hybrid

Compensation: $81,500 - $91,500

Bonus Eligible: Yearly

  • Integration experience (preferred): Familiarity with Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, SSIS, or comparable technologies; experience with Azure Integration Services is a plus.
  • Azure (preferred): Azure Fundamentals certification (AZ-900 or equivalent) is a plus; experience with Azure SQL is desirable.
  • Development exposure (preferred): Working proficiency in .NET/ASP, JavaScript, XML/HTML, and/or Python, with the ability to read and analyze existing code and system documentation.
  • Reporting/Analytics (preferred): Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau; advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
  • Enterprise application experience (preferred): Experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365, CRM systems, or similar enterprise applications.
  • Security & compliance: Understanding of application security best practices, identity and access management (e.g., Azure AD/Entra ID), and data privacy standards; HIPAA experience preferred.
  • Work style: Ability to work independently while also fostering strong, collaborative, cross-functional partnerships.
  • Pre-employment requirements: Must pass a DHS background study and drug test, and maintain reliable transportation for work-related travel, if required.


How you’ll be spending your time:


Application & Process Analysis: Evaluating systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities; documenting data flows, system integrations, and functional requirements.


SQL Development & Technical Support: Developing, enhancing, and maintaining SQL objects (stored procedures, views, queries), including basic performance tuning; analyzing code bases and integrations to understand architecture and dependencies; providing backup coverage when the Senior Technical Analyst/SQL Developer is unavailable.


Data Integrations & Reporting: Supporting data integrations, ETL processes, and interfaces (e.g., Azure services, SSIS, or comparable solutions); developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and BI solutions to deliver actionable insights.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in software development and/or application support.
  • Working proficiency in SQL required, including exposure to Azure SQL (preferred).
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems in a professional environment.
  • Experience supporting testing and UAT, including test case development, defect tracking, validation, go-live readiness, and post-go-live support.
  • Experience with identity and access management concepts (e.g., RBAC, provisioning/deprovisioning, least privilege); familiarity with Azure AD/Entra ID is a plus.
  • Business intelligence and reporting experience preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or other regulated environments preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively to achieve shared outcomes.
