Job description

Position Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a key contributor within the finance organization, responsible for delivering advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic insights to support data-driven decision making across the business. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role partners closely with cross-functional teams - including operations, accounting, and executive leadership - to provide financial visibility, optimize performance, and support corporate initiatives. The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Essential Functions (Other Duties as Assigned)
  • Lead the development, coordination, and analysis of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans
  • Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modeling to support strategic initiatives
  • Build, maintain, and enhance complex financial models to evaluate business performance, investment opportunities and operational improvements
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership through clear and concise financial reporting and presentations
  • Partner with operations, accounting, and other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and accurate reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability drivers across multiple business units or locations
  • Support M&A activity, capital investment analysis, and other strategic projects as needed
  • Assist in developing dashboards, management reports, and tools to improve financial transparency and decision-making
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, collaborating with accounting during month-end close processes
  • Monitor industry trends, economic conditions, and competitive benchmarks to inform financial planning and strategy
  • Mentor junior analysts, providing guidance on best practices in financial analysis and modeling

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field required; MBA or CPA/CFA designation preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or a related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis tools
  • Experience with financial planning systems and ERP systems preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and corporate finance principles
  • Experience in multi-location, high-growth, or private equity backed environment is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Deep understanding of financial analysis techniques, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
  • Familiarity with business performance metrics, operational finance, and profitability analysis
  • Knowledge of M&A financial assessments and capital planning is a plus
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities; proficiency in PowerPoint for executive presentations
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach to financial analysis
  • Ability to synthesize large datasets into meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing business needs

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer in a quiet office environment
  • Ability to travel occasionally to multi-site operations, investor meetings, or financial institutions as needed, travel up to 10%
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms
