Trusted by over 4,500 professional acquirers and 3,000 M&A advisors, we have built a pioneering digital transaction platform that radically improves the speed, confidentiality, and success by which private companies achieve successful exits.

Axial is a founder-led, profitable company based in New York City with a hybrid office culture. We've been profitable since 2020 and are the category leader in our market. We are long-term oriented, values-driven, and focused on building a lasting company committed to member trust, operational excellence, and profitable long-term growth.

Overview

We are seeking a technically oriented GTM Engineer to design, build, and operate the systems that power Axial's go-to-market function. Reporting to the Business Operations Lead, this role sits at the intersection of BizOps, GTM, and Product.

This is a hands-on technical operations role. You will own and improve the systems that drive GTM execution, including workflow orchestration, data pipelines, and AI-driven automation. Your work will reduce manual effort, increase reliability, and improve how internal teams and members operate.

The initial focus of the role is to own and evolve AI-powered systems across Axial's member lifecycle. You will design and deploy intelligent workflows that qualify and verify new members in real time, build automation that resolves support requests without human intervention, develop agentic SDR systems that proactively engage the right prospects, and elevate our AI-driven chat into a high-quality, trusted member experience. Your work will power critical workflows that directly impact revenue, member trust, and operational leverage.

This role is best suited for someone comfortable owning systems end-to-end, from initial architecture and implementation through ongoing monitoring and improvement. You care deeply about data quality, reliability, and user experience, and take pride in building durable systems that materially improve how the company operates.

Responsibilities

  • AI and Agentic Systems Development: Design, build, and operate AI-driven systems that power core GTM and member workflows. Deploy production-grade tooling and own its reliability and performance. Measure results against defined metrics and continuously improve.
  • Workflow Orchestration and Automation: Build and maintain scalable workflows using tools such as n8n, Clay, Zapier, Google Apps Script, and custom code. Translate business logic into reliable multi-system automations that reduce manual work and enforce consistency.
  • Internal Tools and Lightweight Product Development: Design and build custom internal tools and lightweight product surfaces that support GTM and member operations. Use platforms such as Superblocks to build reliable applications that integrate with core systems and increase operational leverage.
  • Data Infrastructure for AI and Automation: Help design and maintain the data foundations required for AI-driven and automated workflows. Maintain accurate, structured, and accessible GTM data to power automation and agentic systems.
  • GTM Systems: Work within Axial's core GTM tech stack to configure workflows, manage integrations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system stability.
  • Strategic Projects and Experimentation: Lead exploratory projects focused on new tools, architectures, and automation opportunities. Prototype quickly and convert successful experiments into stable production systems.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with BizOps, GTM, Product, and Engineering to translate real-world workflows into technical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in BizOps, Engineering, RevOps, SalesOps, GTM Engineering, or a related role at a high-growth technology company or startup.
  • Automation and Systems Building: Hands-on experience designing and building workflow automations using tools such as n8n, Clay, Zapier, or Google Apps Script. Experience building internal tools and applications that support operational and GTM workflows.
  • GTM Systems Experience: Strong working knowledge of Salesforce and related GTM systems such as HubSpot, Outreach, or Gong. Experience with configuration, integrations, and data hygiene beyond basic administration.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to write and maintain code to support automation and systems integration in JavaScript, SQL, Python, or Apps Script. Comfortable working with APIs, webhooks, and structured data. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
  • Data and Analytics: Strong comfort working with operational data to support reporting and decision making. Able to assess data quality and translate business questions into reliable reporting and automated insights.
  • Ownership and Execution: Demonstrated ability to own projects from definition through delivery. Operates effectively in ambiguity and balances speed with reliability. High integrity and accountability, with a track record of building durable systems others rely on.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Clear written and verbal communicator who works effectively with technical and non-technical partners across GTM, Business Operations, and Product.
