Job Summary

The Part-time Junior Staff member plays a vital role in supporting the safety, supervision, and engagement of Club members across various program areas. Under the supervision of the Youth Development Supervisor, this role assists in delivering high-quality, outcome-driven programs that reflect the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Junior Staff contribute to a positive Club experience by helping facilitate activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting volunteers. Must be accompanied by a staff member aged 18 or older when working directly with Club members.

Roles & Responsibilities

 Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Designs, organizes, and leads programs and activities based on a structured curriculum.
  • Directly implements programming and high-impact activities within assigned areas.
  • Delivers engaging sessions using diverse methods such as lectures, discussions, interactive games, and guided role-playing.
  • Utilizes outcome measurement tools to assess program effectiveness.
  • Conducts programs with enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Must be at least 16 years old and enter their junior year of high school.
  • Active membership with the Boys & Girls Club.
  • Genuine passion for working with youth in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to the evolving needs of the Club.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Demonstrates high ethical standards and personal integrity.
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all members.

Working Conditions and Driving

  • Hours 10 up to 25 hours a week
  • Available M-F 2:00-6:30pm and occasionally early release days, based on school year calendar and school year breaks.
