Job description
The Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) is one of 41 Sections of the PGA of America, and its geographic territory includes the State of Texas north of the 31st latitude, or just north of Austin. The Northern Texas PGA is comprised of approximately 1,200 PGA members and associates employed at more than 400 facilities.
The Northern Texas PGA has 24 full-time staff members and is currently headquartered in Frisco, Texas. The Northern Texas PGA opened its own state-of-the-art headquarters on the PGA Frisco campus in December of 2022.
In addition to managing the day-to-day affairs of the Section, the Northern Texas PGA also operates a non-profit and charitable foundation that focuses on five pillars: junior golf, college scholarships, inclusion, internships, and military and veterans. The foundation also owns and operates The Ronny Golf Park.
The mission of the Northern Texas PGA is to serve its members and grow the game.
START AND END DATES
January 11, 2027 - December 17, 2027. This is a one (1) year fellowship.
(Start and end dates are somewhat flexible based on the successful applicant's availability and career advancement)
JOB SUMMARY
The Northern Texas PGA Foundation is seeking qualified applicants for a 1-year fellowship in golf operations and administration. The successful applicant will be responsible for helping conduct the day-to-day operations of the Northern Texas PGA Foundation's programming, including the NTPGA Junior Tour; Drive, Chip, & Putt; PGA Jr. League; PGA HOPE; Fairway to Success; Fore Frisco; and the NTPGA Scholarship Program. This fellowship includes comprehensive training in program development, golf tournament operations, golf tournament administration, event management, and the Rules of Golf.
The primary focus of this position will be to assist the Northern Texas PGA Foundation in executing programs and initiatives across the Foundation's five pillars: Junior Golf, College Scholarships, Internships, Inclusion, and Military & Veterans. Through these pillars, the Foundation serves thousands of young people, families, students, veterans, and aspiring golf industry professionals throughout Northern Texas. Examples of the Foundation's work within each pillar include:
- Junior Golf | The Northern Texas PGA Foundation annually reaches more than 10,000 junior golfers and their families through tournaments, player development programs, and other youth golf initiatives. The Foundation offers a variety of opportunities designed to introduce young people to the game, develop their skills, and provide pathways for continued participation in golf. These opportunities include the Randy Smith Tour, Prep Tour, Medalist Tour, All-American Tour, PGA Jr. League, and Drive, Chip & Putt, among other youth programming. Through these programs, the Foundation works to make golf accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for junior golfers of all ages and skill levels.
- College Scholarships | Since 1983, the Northern Texas PGA Foundation has provided more than $7.43 million in college scholarships to more than 1,000 students. In 2026 alone, the Foundation awarded $947,500 in scholarships to 90 deserving students, made possible through the generous support of donors and community partners. Scholarship programming provides financial assistance to students while also creating opportunities for mentorship, personal development, and continued engagement with the game of golf. Fellows may assist with various aspects of the scholarship process, including programming, communications, student engagement, events, and administrative support.
- Internships | Through a variety of internship and professional development opportunities, the Northern Texas PGA Foundation strives to educate, encourage, and better prepare young professionals for careers in the golf industry. While the experience may vary for each intern, the goal of the Foundation's internship program is to cultivate future employees and provide meaningful hands-on experience in the business of golf. In 2025, the Northern Texas PGA hired more than 65 interns to assist with programming and operations throughout the year. Fellows may have opportunities to assist with recruiting, onboarding, professional development, intern programming, and day-to-day support of the Foundation's internship initiatives.
- Inclusion | The Northern Texas PGA Foundation is committed to furthering The PGA of America's efforts to make the game, business, and workforce of golf more inclusive and reflective of the increasingly diverse population it serves. Through programs such as Fairway to Success and Fore Frisco, the Foundation creates opportunities for students from historically underrepresented communities to develop relationships with the game of golf, pursue higher education, and gain access to resources and experiences that can help them achieve their goals. Fellows may assist with student programming, community engagement, scholarship initiatives, events, and partnerships supporting the Foundation's inclusion efforts.
- Military & Veterans | The Northern Texas PGA Foundation recognizes and honors the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who currently serve or have served in the United States military. Through the game of golf, the Foundation works to support veterans and active-duty military personnel through programs such as PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere). PGA HOPE introduces golf to veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. Fellows may assist with program operations, veteran engagement, events, communications, volunteer coordination, and other initiatives designed to strengthen the Foundation's support of the military and veteran community.
