Job description

Job Summary:
SciPlay is a leading developer and publisher of digital games on mobile and web platforms, providing highly entertaining free-to-play games. The Senior Technical Artist will mentor the art team in Unity asset creation, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure art content is correctly integrated into games while supporting Live events and economy rollouts.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Mentor the art team in the technical aspects of Unity asset creation
โ€ข Perform R&D for new tech required for feature implementation through creative problem solving, iterative design, and prototyping
โ€ข Assist in developing standards, processes, and proprietary tools alongside Production and Development teams
โ€ข Document processes and procedures for game features and associated Unity implementation
โ€ข Adhere to file structure in artistic source, directory, and version management
โ€ข Communicate between engineers, designers, and non-technical artists to package assets efficiently for quality products on the target platform
โ€ข Communicate with LiveOps and Configuration Managers to identify, package, create, and verify assets required to support in-game events and economy rollouts.
โ€ข Own technical delivery of assets for scheduled updates, ensuring all assets are fully tested and perform and reliably delivered against production deadlines.
โ€ข Demonstrate a strong desire to continuously improve skills through independent learning and collaboration with team members; identify more efficient processes to improve throughput
โ€ข Maintain a high degree of professionalism and receptiveness to critique from team members
โ€ข Self-manage time effectively with a reasonable degree of accountability and minimal instruction
โ€ข Create 2D assets for all aspects of the product including UI, composition, VFX, and animations
โ€ข Oversee and support with items across the art pipeline -- from asset optimization, exporting, through implementation and test
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelor of Arts in art/animation or technical degree or equivalent industry experience.
โ€ข At least 3 years previous experience as a digital artist with a considerable amount of technical responsibility.
โ€ข Deep practical knowledge of what Unity can and canโ€™t do especially regarding the UI system, Mechanim, timelines, the particle system, shaders and materials, optimizations and troubleshooting.
โ€ข Proficient in Photoshop, Unity, 3DS Max
โ€ข Proficient in UI Design and development in Unity
โ€ข Proficient in Unity animation systems and knowledge of event driven programming
โ€ข Proficient in implementing art into Unity prefabs complete with animations and atlases
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills
โ€ข Understanding of how to design art for various themes and target platform
โ€ข Working knowledge of production collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
โ€ข Proficient in Asset management and managing branching inside of version control systems (Git)
โ€ข Working knowledge of MS Office
โ€ข 3D experience
โ€ข Portfolio (website or blog required for pre-interview)
