Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience in Android in a technical leadership role overseeing projects.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical related field.
  • 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience with data management, system design, Java, Kotlin, scalability, full-stack development.
  • Experience working on Android internals, frameworks, or system-level applications.
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities
  • Solve deep technical problems spanning across first-party Google Android systems.
  • Lead and mentor the GMS Frameworks team to be high-performing engineers, while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Partner and collaborate with teams across job functions to drive consensus and deliver positive impact to Google Android users.
  • Ensure best-in class third-party developer experience for Play services SDKs.
  • Drive architectural improvements that enable Google mobile innovation at competitive speeds while maintaining rigorous standards for policy compliance, regulations, and architectural controls to guarantee user safety and privacy.
