Job Type: Full Time
Rate of Pay: $166,629.00 per year
Duties: Collaborate with customers to design, build, configure, troubleshoot, and test the deployment of Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) systems. Provide broad exposure to the entire ADMS with a focus on extracting, translating, and loading the utility's electrical distribution network model into the ADMS. Serve as the primary point of contact for distribution electrical network modeling efforts and guide customers as they transition to a next-generation control system. Troubleshoot and mitigate data or model issues. Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of modeling processes related to the delivery of ADMS systems. Implement control systems at electric utilities that improve their efficiency to operate the modern grid while ensuring contract requirements and specifications are met. Interface with utilities' Geographic Information System (GIS) teams to extract, translate, and load the electrical network model to the ADMS. Develop data extraction logic and perform model validation. Configure and integrate software components to meet contract requirements and test with customers. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to more junior ADMS Engineers. Support design and discovery efforts with potential customers to identify scope of work for future projects. Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network model issues. Lead the design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects. Lead customer workshops focused on data modeling and business processes.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in electric power systems engineering or a related field (or equivalent foreign education) and three (3) years of experience working in the utility power industry.
OR, in the alternative:
Bachelor's degree in electric power systems engineering or a related field (or equivalent foreign education) and five (5) years of experience working in the utility power industry.
Special Skills Required:
(1) Demonstrated expertise (DE) executing operational technology (OT) projects through the configuration and modeling of Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Outage Management Systems (OMS) with a focus on modernizing the digital grid ecosystem for utilities and supporting IT/OT project deliveries within the electric and gas utility sectors.
(2) DE configuring communication protocols and designing software logic for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and remote terminal units (RTUs) within a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, module or database.
(3) DE performing scripting with Python and C++ languages in support of device point generation and analysis within the SCADA application.
