Position Title: Managing Director of Foreign Exchange

Business Unit: Commercial Banking

Reports to: Managing Director of International Banking

Position Overview: This position is primarily responsible for risk management and foreign exchange trading for the Bank and its customers. The incumbent will manage the Bank’s foreign exchange trading desk. He/she will also be responsible for developing and retaining comprehensive relationships while meeting the risk profile, fee income and profitability profiles of the department and the Bank. He/she will build deeper client relationships through the sale of foreign exchange products and risk management solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage the risk associated with client and Bank foreign exchange exposures, while increasing fee income through greater market liquidity and transaction execution.
  • Enhance the Bank’s ability to service clients with risk management expertise.
  • Increase client acquisition and retention by demonstrating FNB's expertise, knowledge, and execution ability.
  • Work with the Bank and Bank's clients to understand and develop appropriate hedging strategies for both clients and Bank own portfolios.
  • Increase product offering to grow fee income.
  • Work with counterparties to establish ISDA, FX Agreement and Dodd-Frank documentation when required.
  • Develop relationship strategies with CFOs, Controllers and Treasury and Finance Managers, and provide them with daily and or weekly market research. Markets and sells the Bank's foreign exchange platform.
  • Identify research-driven trading ideas and market opportunities to drive business.
  • Liaises and interacts with institutional FX traders, correspondent banks and liquidity providers to facilitate transactions and provide competitive pricing for clients.
  • Work with Finance, Back Office and FX platform vendor to address any post-trade/system issues.
  • Support International Banking Services short and long term goals and plans.
  • Provide the sales team and administrative support staff with guidance and advice on foreign exchange transactions and market dynamics.
  • Train and educate junior members to develop skills in all aspects of foreign exchange trading.
  • Retain and grow the profitability of assigned portfolio.
  • Develops new relationships with core markets.
  • Present alternative solutions for a variety of complex business situations.
  • Work with internal partners to generate referrals and leads that result in new business or expands existing business.
  • Train team members on risk management, trade execution, market knowledge, and client relationship building.
  • Network in the community and assigned market area.
  • Establish new referral sources with Centers of Influence (COIs).
  • Actively and accurately tracks sales pipeline.
  • Work closely with RMs to ensure that all accounts assigned are administered according to policies, procedures and governing documents.
  • Participates in line of business training and meetings.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
