Job Summary:
Visionist, Inc. has an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Full Stack Software Engineer, supporting critical mission operations for big data processing platforms. The role involves implementing infrastructure for AI model inference, developing production AI services, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Implement and support infrastructure for AI model inference under the guidance of senior engineers
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of production AI services and applications, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and autonomous agents
• Participate in implementing monitoring, logging, and observability for AI services
• Assist with automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
• Help ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of AI platform components
• Follow established security best practices for AI systems and data
• Work effectively in ambiguous problem spaces, learning to define structured and scalable solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to shared engineering standards
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 2 years of experience may substitute degree)
• 3 years of experience in software development
• AWS Professional Certification
• Experience contributing to production systems
• Familiarity with high-volume web application architectures
• Exposure to cloud engineering, preferably AWS
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and containerized deployments
• Proficiency in Python
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in fast-moving environments
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and collaborate
