Job description

The Work:

We are looking for an Experienced Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and optimize both user-facing and back-end systems, with a strong focus on high-performance React and Java applications. This role requires deep knowledge of front-end and server-side architecture, scalable design principles, and the ability to translate complex data into intuitive, insightful visual experiences. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and delivering highquality solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Develop: Design and implement architecture for complex applications using React, Java, and cloud native tools, focusing on performance, scalability, and reusability.
  • Component Library Development: Create and maintain a scalable, reusable component library to ensure consistent design and function across the application. 
  • Code Standards & Best Practices: Establish and enforce development standards, code style guides, and best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance application performance through techniques such as lazy loading, code splitting, and caching. 
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Guide and mentor junior developers, promoting best practices and contributing to continuous learning within the team.

Here's What You Need:

  • 5 plus years in full stack development with significant experience using React and related libraries
  • Advanced knowledge of React and its ecosystem (Redux, Hooks, Context API), as well as modern TypeScript
  • Demonstrates expertise in API development and best practices, including RESTful API design, versioning, authentication (e.g., OAuth, JWT), rate limiting, and documentation standards (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger)
  • Strong understanding of synchronous and asynchronous workflows, including event-driven architecture, message queuing, promise-based patterns, async/await paradigms, and multi-threading considerations in back-end systems
  • Expertise in Microservices and/or backend Web Servers (Python FastAPI, Ruby on Rails)
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to work on-site in Arlington, VA two to three days per week
