Position Description:

Develops and integrates applications with Java-based backend services deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Implements Storybook for front-end testing, and leverages Karate and JUnit for backend testing. Ensures code quality through SonarQube andestablishescoding standards to build reliable and maintainable software systems.Usesbusiness knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in architecture design teams.

  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.

  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

  • Recommendsdevelopmenttesting tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

  • Developscomprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

  • Responsible for meeting project goalson-timeandon-budget.

  • Advises onrisk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

  • Plans and coordinates complex project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

  • Advisessenior management on technical strategy.

  • Mentors junior team members.

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions toon-goingdevelopment efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing Web application development in the financial services technology domain, using Angular and Single Page application technologies.

Or, alternatively,Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing Web application development in the financial services technology domain, using Angular and Single Page application technologies.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must alsopossess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") performing technical and functional analysis for Web based applications and creating User Stories, using Jira and Confluence.

  • DE designing and building Web applications (Single Page Application components and modules), using client-side technologies -- Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, Material UI, and AG-Grid.

  • DE writing test cases to maintain standard code coverage using Jasmine; performing Test Driven Development (TDD) and quality testing to deliver, measure, and iterate features to customers; and testing automation at various levels -- unit, component, integration, and functional tests -- and performing post-installation testing to identify and resolve technical problems, using Jasmine, Junit, Mockito, Karate, and SonarQube.

  • DE building and deploying Web applications using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated deployment tools -- GIT,BitBucket, Maven, Jenkins, anduDeploy.
