The Front-End Web Developer will support a range of client website projects, focusing on building responsive, high-performance web experiences across a variety of web platforms and frameworks. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment and can take designs from concept to execution-building clean, scalable, and high-performing websites that meet both user and business needs. You'll collaborate closely with designers, account managers, and strategists to bring digital experiences to life while ensuring reliability, usability, and long-term maintainability. This is a freelance/ contractor role.
Responsibilities:
  • Build, customize, and maintain responsive website templates, themes, and reusable UI components.
  • Work within WordPress architecture, including The Loop, hooks (actions/filters), and custom post types.
  • Design and implement modular content schemas and custom fields for efficient client editing.
  • Integrate and customize third-party modules, e-commerce solutions, web forms, and third-party APIs.
  • Build and manage site pages using visual editors, page builders, and block systems while upholding clean code standards.
  • Develop responsive, accessible web experiences using HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox/Grid), and JavaScript (vanilla + jQuery).
  • Translate Figma or Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect, production-ready websites.
  • Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
  • Maintain consistency with brand guidelines and design systems.
  • Optimize websites for speed and performance (Core Web Vitals, image optimization, caching strategies).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as plugin conflicts, broken layouts, or site outages.
  • Perform routine updates, QA, and ongoing site maintenance.
  • Support website migrations (staging to production, host-to-host transfers).
  • Implement and maintain site security best practices (SSL, updates, monitoring).
  • Work with MySQL/phpMyAdmin for basic database management.
  • Manage hosting environments (e.g., WP Engine, SiteGround, cPanel).
  • Handle DNS updates and domain configurations when needed.
  • Work within version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
  • Write clean, well-documented code to support collaboration and handoffs.

Skills/Qualifications:
