About the role

The Junior Buyer - Indirect Procurement supports the effective delivery of indirect procurement activities across the business. The role focuses on operational sourcing, supplier and stakeholder support, data accuracy, and compliance with procurement policies and processes. This position provides strong development opportunities within a professional procurement function.


What you'll be doing

  • Support end-to-end procurement activities including pre-approving orders (shopping carts) on our internal procurement tool.  Creating purchase orders in our ERP system (SAP) and assisting with supplier onboarding
  • Manage low value and low complexity sourcing activities including RFQs and supplier comparisons.
  • Support indirect procurement category manager with sourcing of Indirect goods and services such as IT, professional services, marketing, travel, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and PO data within ERP/procurement systems.
  • Assist with contract administration using standard templates and approved terms.
  • Track spend, savings, and supplier performance metrics and contribute to regular reporting.
  • Support internal stakeholders with procurement system guidance and process queries.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, controls, and governance requirements.
  • Conduct supplier research, market analysis, and benchmarking activities.
  • Work collaboratively with finance, legal, and procurement colleagues to resolve issues and drive efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Present a professional and customer-focused procurement service to stakeholders and suppliers.

Systems & Analytical Skills

  • Use ERP and procurement platforms (e.g. SRM, SAP, Ariba).
  • Maintain accurate spreadsheets and reports using Excel, including basic data analysis and KPI tracking.
  • Support spend analysis, savings tracking, and cost comparisons.
  • Ensure data accuracy, audit readiness, and attention to detail.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  • Act as a first point of contact for routine procurement and system queries.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across functions.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with suppliers.
  • Support supplier performance tracking and issue resolution.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Follow internal procurement policies and procedures.
  • Support supplier risk assessments and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure ethical procurement practices and adherence to internal controls.
