Job description

Amentum is seeking a Junior RF Engineering Technician to support our Dahlgren, Virginia team in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Electromagnetic Effects Division.

Junior RF Engineering Technician Responsibilities Include:
  • Operate and maintain equipment necessary to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) testing.
  • Support verification testing of DoD and non-DoD developmental and operational weapon and electronic systems.
  • Conduct testing to determine whether systems under evaluation meet E3 design specifications.
  • Assess the ability of systems to function in their intended operational electromagnetic environment from both a safety and reliability standpoint.
  • Interface and communicate directly with customers.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to support a wide variety of test events.
  • Travel as required to support testing activities, up to 10% of the time.
Minimum Requirements
  • One (1) year of general experience in electronics, physics, or RF systems.
  • Knowledge of using one or more of the following: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and Time Domain Reflectometers (TDRs).
  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.
  • Candidate must maintain a valid REAL ID driver's license, required for access to the customer site, and have access to reliable transportation, as this position may require travel between local work sites.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • On-the-job mentoring is provided.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical training beyond high school.

Compensation Details:

US: 24.68
