Description

Purpose of Position: The Jr. Front-End Developer will support the web development team in building, maintaining, and optimizing company web properties. This role is designed as a growth opportunity; the incumbent will work closely with senior developers to bridge the gap between visual design and technical implementation. Responsibilities include maintaining Content Management Systems (CMS), executing front-end code, and assisting with light backend integrations. The Jr. Developer will apply their foundational knowledge of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including version control, cloud deployment strategies, and quality assurance.

Essential Functions

Translate UI/UX design wireframes into high-quality code (HTML5, Next JS, CSS3, JavaScript/ES6+) that is responsive and cross-browser compatible. Maintain and update company websites using Contentful, WordPress and other CMS platforms; create custom themes or plugins as needed. Assist with basic backend tasks, such as API integrations, database queries, and server-side logic (PHP, SQL, or Node.js) to support front-end functionality. Manage codebases using Git and GitHub, ensuring proper branching, merging, and pull request protocols are followed. Assist in deploying and managing applications within the Azure environment (training provided). Conduct testing and debugging websites to ensure optimal performance and accessibility compliance. Participate in code reviews, bi-weekly stand-ups, and pair-programming sessions to accelerate learning and adhere to best practices. Create and maintain technical documentation for code and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing. Assist in optimization of corporate websites for mobile and site speed efficiency. Assist in building page schema markup plans for website page management and SEO, LLM bot indexing. Adhere to PHO (Protected Health Information) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines. On-site or remote regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: One to two (1-2) years of experience (or strong portfolio) in Front-End technologies: HTML, CSS (Sass/Less), Next JS and JavaScript (React, Vue, or jQuery, ES6). Hands-on experience with Contentful, WordPress (including theme customization) or other headless Content Management Systems (Sanity, Storyblok, Content Stack). Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control. Exposure to Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms (AWS/GCP). Basic understanding of backend languages (PHP, Python, or Node.js) and SQL databases. Familiarity with modern build tools (Webpack, NPM) and package managers. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn from senior team members. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Some experience thriving in active, collaborative team environments. Previous digital agencies or B2B/B2C marketing experience is also a plus. Previous experience with digital analytics, landing page development, A/B testing and source code optimization are also a strong plus. Experience with Schema markup and JSON-LD is also a strong plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Outlook. Adhere to all PHI (Protected Health Information) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines.

Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience/bootcamp certification with a demonstrable portfolio of work, required.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasional standing and walking. Must have adequate hearing for phone work. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
