Job description
The NC State University Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of Electronic Resources Librarian in the Acquisitions & Discovery department. Acquisitions & Discovery's 6 librarians and 15 staff are responsible for managing the Libraries' approximately $12 million collections budget, acquiring materials in all formats, negotiating license agreements and contracts, and describing and maintaining access points to facilitate discovery of the Libraries' resources. Acquisitions & Discovery librarians have been actively involved in the development of an e-resource management system, E-Matrix, and they contribute to the Libraries' internationally recognized innovations in content management and discovery.

- ALA-accredited MLS, MIS, or equivalent advanced degree
- Knowledge of trends and practices in electronic resource management
- Understanding of current and emerging models, practices, and tools as they relate to library acquisitions, licensing, and metadata management
- Familiarity with library management systems supporting acquisitions and discovery functions, such as integrated library systems (ILS), knowledge bases, electronic resource management systems (ERMS), issue tracking systems, or discovery interfaces
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to foster an environment of belonging and well-being
- Ability to communicate clearly and knowledgeably
- Ability to work independently, creatively, and collaboratively in a team environment
- Evidence of ability for ongoing professional development and contribution
- Familiarity with trends and practices in descriptive and administrative metadata for library resources
- Relevant library acquisitions and licensing experience
- Experience with or interest in tools and scripting languages to support data extraction, migration, manipulation, analysis, and reporting
- Project management experience
- Familiarity or experience with Alma
